Hold a hotkey, speak naturally — polished writing lands where you're typing.

30 minutes of dictation over 14 days · No card needed

A recording of the BolWise desktop app: the Email mode is opened, its input language switched from English to Hindi, and the AI instructions set to “Translate everything into professional English. Keep it warm but brief — no sign-off.” After the profile is saved, holding the right Command key and speaking a sentence of Hindi pastes a polished English email into a Gmail compose window.

Speak in

The language you think in is already supported.

BolWise understands 99+ languages, including Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Punjabi, Kannada, Urdu, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Mandarin, Japanese, Korean, Arabic and many more — and it understands them mixed together in one sentence.

How it works

One hotkey. Three seconds. Lands itself.

No new writing habit to learn. Click where you want text, hold the shortcut, speak the way you actually think — polished writing lands right where you're typing.

01

Hold the hotkey

Hold Right ⌘ on Mac, or Right Alt on Windows — in Slack, Gmail, Notion, Cursor, WhatsApp Web, anywhere you can type.

02

Speak naturally

Talk the way you actually think — in any of 99+ languages, even mixing two mid-sentence. Names and places stay right.

03

Polished text lands

BolWise cleans grammar, fixes filler, and pastes ready-to-send writing exactly where you were typing.

Coding & prompting

Prompt at the speed of thought.

A good agent prompt is three sentences of context you would rather not type. Say the whole thing once — BolWise strips the false starts and drops it in the composer with your technical terms intact.

  1. Cursor
    reducer.tsCouponBox.tsx

    1type State = {

    2 coupon: string | null

    3 shipping: Shipping

    4}

    5

    6const initial: State = {

    7 coupon: null,

    8 shipping: { method: "standard", eta: 3 },

    9}

    10

    11export function reducer(state = initial, action: Action) {

    12 switch (action.type) {

    13 case "coupon/applied":

    14 return { ...state, coupon: action.code }

    15

    16 case "shipping/changed":

    17 // keep the existing analytics event

    18 track("shipping_changed", action.method)

    19 return { ...state, shipping: action.value }

    20

    21 default:

    22 return state

    23 }

    24}

    On the checkout page, the coupon box and the shipping step each keep their own state and they keep drifting out of sync. Please move them onto a single reducer so there is one source of truth, and keep the existing analytics events working.

    Long prompts, said once

    The context an agent actually needs is tedious to type and quick to say. Speak it through and the false starts and half-sentences come out as a clean, ordered request.

    Run the migration against staging first, and show me the diff before applying anything. Do not touch production.

    Your terms survive intact

    Staging, production, the name of your own database. The polish pass is told to preserve names, numbers, URLs and technical terms, so they land the way you said them.

    It never answers for you

    Dictate a request into a prompt box and you get the tidied-up request back — never an answer to it. BolWise shapes your words and then gets out of the way.

Productivity

Clearer messages. Fewer keystrokes.

Speak the update and BolWise turns it into a message that is punctuated, cleaned up and ready to send — landing in the app you were already typing in.

    Can you post the update before standup?

    Morning — Symphony is still on track for Friday. The billing migration is done and sitting in staging, and I have cleared the last two review comments. I will drop the QA checklist in here tonight.

    Standups you say once

    Talk through the update the way you would say it out loud. What lands in the composer is punctuated, broken into paragraphs and ready to send.

    Could you send over the proposal when you have it? Happy to find time Friday if a walkthrough would help.

    Maria Duarte (maria@acme.com)

    Hi Maria, Thanks for chasing this. I am attaching the proposal here, and I can walk you through it on Friday if that works for you. Just send me a time that works. Thanks, Sid

    A reply that looks like a reply

    Long-form without the wrist ache

What's inside

Not another transcriber. A writing partner.

  • 99+ languages, detected automatically

    Every language BolWise supports is on by default. Leave it on Automatic and just talk — no menu to open, no language to declare before you start speaking.

  • Polishes, never translates

    BolWise writes back in whatever language you spoke — nothing is translated unless you ask. Add a custom instruction to a Mode if you want a different output language.

  • Modes for the way you write

    Save a language, a tone and your own plain-English instructions as a named Mode. Switch between them without leaving what you were doing.

  • It lands exactly where you were typing

    No scratch window to copy out of. BolWise checks there is a real editable field first — and when there is not, it copies to your clipboard and tells you, instead of pasting into nowhere.

  • Polish text you already typed

    Select a draft in Slack, Mail, Docs, or anywhere else, then use the polish hotkey — ⌘⇧E on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+E on Windows. BolWise cleans grammar and wording in place — same language, no mic, and you never leave the app you're in.

  • Your history stays on your machine

    Every dictation you have run is searchable in the app and stored on your own computer. It is never synced to us — we cannot read it, and deleting it deletes it.

  • Hold to talk, let go when you're done

    Default is Right ⌘ on Mac, Right Alt on Windows — hold it and speak, release the moment you finish. No separate press to stop.

    Press once to start, press again to stop

    Long thought and do not want to hold a key the whole time? Default is ⌘⇧Space on Mac, Ctrl+Shift+Space on Windows — press once to start recording, press it again to stop.

FAQ

Answers before you sign up.

What makes BolWise different from regular dictation?

Most dictation assumes you speak one language at a time and hands back a raw transcript. BolWise is built around how multilingual people actually talk — switching languages mid-sentence, accents, and names from any language — and turns that into polished, professional writing before it lands right where you're typing.

Which languages can I speak in?

BolWise understands 99+ languages, including code-switched speech that mixes two languages mid-sentence. Auto-detect picks up whatever you are speaking, and the polish pass returns it in that same language — cleaned up, not translated. Add a custom instruction to a Mode if you want the output in a different language.

Where does my audio actually go?

Audio is sent to the BolWise API for transcription and polish, then discarded — we do not keep audio or transcripts on our servers. Your local run History lives on your device only and is never uploaded.

Do I need my own API keys?

No. BolWise routes through our managed backend — no API keys, no model configuration, nothing to set up. Install, sign up, sign in, dictate.

How fast is it?

It depends on how long you speak. Short clips usually come back in a few seconds, and a 20-second clip typically lands in under 3 seconds on a good connection. Longer recordings take proportionally longer. These are typical figures from everyday use rather than guarantees — your connection and clip length both matter.

Which platforms are supported?

BolWise is a desktop app for macOS 13+ (Apple Silicon and Intel, signed and notarized) and Windows 10/11 (x64). Download either build from the Download page. It is not available on phones or tablets.

Windows SmartScreen warns me when I install — is that normal?

Yes. The Windows build is not Authenticode-signed yet, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” or that the app is unrecognized. That is expected. Click More info, then Run anyway. The Mac build is signed and notarized and does not show this warning.

What if I want the output in a different language?

By default BolWise writes back in the language you spoke — say it in English and you get polished English, with grammar, punctuation, and filler cleaned up. Nothing is translated unless you ask. To change the output language, add a custom instruction to any Mode, such as 'Translate to formal French' or 'Translate to Spanish', and BolWise will follow it.

What happens when I sign up — is a credit card required?

No card. Download the app, create an account, confirm your email, sign in, and start dictating. The free trial gives you 30 minutes of dictation to use over 14 days, and the app shows how much you have left at all times.
