BolWise is built around how multilingual people actually talk — code-switched sentences, accents, and names from any language — and turns it into professional writing on the way out. Names, places, and product terms stay intact instead of getting phonetically mangled.
Which languages can I speak in?
BolWise understands 99+ languages — from English, Spanish, French, and German to Hindi, Tamil, Japanese, and Arabic — including code-switched speech that mixes two languages mid-sentence. Auto-detect picks up whatever you're speaking, and the polish pass turns it into clear English (or keeps your own language if you prefer). Support for more languages is being tuned continuously.
Where does my audio actually go?
Audio is sent to the BolWise API for transcription and polish, then discarded — we do not keep audio or transcripts on our servers. Your local run History lives on your Mac only and is never uploaded.
Do I need my own API keys?
No. BolWise routes through our managed backend — no API keys, no model configuration, nothing to set up. Sign up, install, sign in, dictate.
How fast is it?
End-to-end (record → transcribe → polish → paste) is typically under 8 seconds for a 20-second clip on a 20 Mbps connection. In practice most polished replies arrive in 3–5 seconds.
Which platforms are supported?
BolWise is available today for macOS 13+ (Apple Silicon and Intel), signed and notarized. A Windows build is planned. BolWise is a desktop app — it is not available on phones or tablets.
What if I want the output in a different language?
The default Mode turns your speech into polished English. Add a custom instruction like 'Translate to formal French' or 'Keep my language, just clean it up' to any Mode and BolWise will follow it. Modes are saved presets you can switch between per task.
What happens when I sign up — is a credit card required?
